Join our Steering Committee

Steering Committee Member - Inspirations Studio

Inspirations Studio is looking for committed individuals to join our steering committee to help guide and contribute to our expansion.

Description:

Inspirations Studio is a ceramic-based program for women who have been impacted by homelessness, poverty, trauma, mental and physical health and/or addiction issues. The Studio’s core mission is to facilitate improvements in members’ lives through the making and selling of pottery. Through creative, therapeutic and skill building work, women gain a sense of self-confidence, dignity and stability, a connection with community, earn supplemental income and engage in a new way with the world as makers. The Studio also offers workshops and collaborative opportunities for other agencies.

To support this core work, the Studio runs pottery classes and workshops for the public to raise awareness and funds to run the program and operates a storefront to support the members of the Studio.

Now in it’s 27th year, Inspirations Studio is poised to grow and is looking to expand the Steering Committee to take this next big step.

The Studio is located at 389 Church Street in Toronto.  www.inspirationsstudio.org    @inspiredpottery

Inspirations Studio uses the word women to include all those who self-identify as women or non- binary.

What we are looking for:

Inspirations Studio’s Steering Committee is a dynamic and active volunteer group which is responsible for the strategic oversight and implementation of Inspirations Studio’s operations and ensuring sustainability and excellence in service and programming.

A background in finance, accounting, law, social service, community work, fundraising or grant writing and reporting is an asset.

Inspirations Studio is committed to ensuring the Steering Committee reflects the diversity of our community and as per the Ontario Human Rights Code, welcomes applications from people of all races, backgrounds, ethnic origins, abilities and sexual orientations.

Responsibilities:
